Streamlined system to gather student mailing lists for faculty tenure review available

Some academic departments survey students as a part of the process of tenure evaluation or review. To do this they need a mailing list of students who attended classes taught by that faculty member. Currently, departments may be using lists they maintain and taking a lot of time to piece together a suitable list.

"We just developed a simple, standard procedure for this using data in PeopleSoft and would be happy to set up any department with the necessary information to use the procedure," said Jim Janossy, head of the Information Services adhoc response group . The output of the process is either a spreadsheet showing faculty member, term, course, student name and best mailing address, or a database from which the department can print mailing labels.

Any department that needs this service should call (ext. 8233) or e-mail Janossy (jjanossy@depaul.edu). The process will take about five business days the first time a department requests it. Subsequent requests should take about three days. Requests can include one or more faculty members.
